The Rutgers Club of New York City is an invitation for alumni in the metropolitan area to get together.
More than 70,000 Rutgers alumni live in the New York City area. The Rutgers Club of New York City, one of the 100-plus chartered organizations that unite alumni, is a source to reconnect and reminisce or recharge your career.
Club Scene: The club unites 1,000 active alumni living and working in New York City for social and professional networking events. Members run the gamut from 30-somethings looking for career connections, to families seeking kid-friendly events, to older alumni wishing to pass on their wisdom to younger generations.
To-Do List: Members enjoy museum tours, community service events, and Rutgers game-watch parties. There are also New York Yankees games and “Summer Send-Offs” for first-year students heading to Rutgers. “Alumni can come together, whether for business or a mini-reunion after graduation,” says club president Christopher Bylone CC’06. The club is endowing a scholarship for New York City students attending Rutgers.
Wise Investment: “The Rutgers diploma is like a stock certificate—a piece of paper that increases in value depending on your involvement,” Bylone says. “Alumni can play a part by joining these groups and being active to keep the Rutgers network strong.”
