In a frenzied atmosphere of excitement, graduating medical students at New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) opened envelopes during national Match Day in March to learn the name of the residency program where they will receive their medical training for the next three to seven years. “This is a very important event for our students and their families,” said Robert L. Johnson NJMS’72, dean of NJMS and interim dean of RWJMS. Ninety-eight percent of NJMS students and 96 percent of RWJMS students matched to their residency program of choice, exceeding the national average of 94 percent.
