Two romantically involved medical students get residencies near each other, as they wished.
Match Day is the annual spring ritual when graduating medical students nationwide simultaneously open envelopes to excitedly learn where they will be serving their residency—ideally at a hospital that they have chosen. The day was even sweeter for Melissa Chan and Daniel Weinick, pictured, students at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School who participated in Couples Match, an option for romantically involved students seeking residencies close together. They will be in New York City: Chan RWJMS’18 at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx and Weinick SAS’13, RWJMS’18 at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan.
