Naomi Klein—award-winning journalist, best-selling author, and social activist—is the inaugural Gloria Steinem Endowed Chair in Media, Culture, and Feminist Studies at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. The three-year appointment, during which Klein will teach, conduct research, and organize public events, coincides with the ascendance of women progressive leaders who are linking human rights and economic justice with climate change and other global challenges. To kick off the program, Klein joined Gloria Steinem at Rutgers for a public discussion on September 21.
