Three Degrees of Graduation

Since first enrolling at the university in 2002, John Bilby and Rutgers have been inseparable. As a member of Army ROTC, he graduated from Rutgers College in 2006. He married Carol Mendez in 2007, a 2005 graduate of Douglass College to whom he was introduced by sister Meg Bilby, also a 2005 Douglass alumna. The couple then moved to Camden where Carol started her clinical rotations at Cooper University Hospital (en route to graduating in 2009 from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School), and John received his master’s in American history at the Graduate School–Camden in 2011. When their careers led them to live in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, in 2014, Bilby enrolled at Rutgers Law School in Newark and graduated last spring, completing the Rutgers–New Brunswick, Rutgers–Camden, and Rutgers–Newark trifecta.
