There are many edifying reasons to attend college, among them preparation to make a good living. In Money magazine’s Best Colleges for Your Money 2017, a ranking of the top 711 colleges that launch students into good-paying vocations for a reasonable undergraduate cost, Rutgers University–New Brunswick weighs in at #49 (and #29 among public universities and #35 for business majors). The New York Times, in its third annual College Access Index, which evaluates colleges’ commitment to economic diversity, placed Rutgers at #32 among 171 public and private schools. PayScale, a website that analyzes salary compensation across industries, published its 2017 College ROI Report, ranking Rutgers #15 among the 25 best public universities in the nation, the only school in New Jersey to receive the designation.
