Considering what senior Jermaine Griffith has earned—a spot on the 2016 Guyana Olympic team as a member of its 4x400 track-and-field relay team—he’s pretty chill about the whole thing. Granted, the Scarlet Knight was excited when he first got word, but these days the honorable-mention All American has more training to do, a tender hamstring to look after, and another goal to meet: shaving half a second off his 400-meter time in order to qualify to compete in that Olympic event, too. It’s all looking good for Griffith. “He’s just scratching the surface,” says coach Mike Mulqueen.
