The Scarlet Knights women’s soccer team had another stellar year, finishing the season with a record of 15-4-2 (9-3-1 Big Ten) and matching its most wins in the Big Ten since its inaugural year in the conference in 2014. The team made it to the semifinals in the Big Ten Tournament, losing to the Univesity of Michigan, 2-1. In achieving a national ranking of No. 21,  the team relied on a stingy defense led  by players like senior backs Chantelle Swaby, Tiernny Wiltshire, and Amanda Visco. Sophomore goalkeeper Meagan McClelland, building on being named the 2018 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, played all 21 games in net, posting 12 shutouts (six of them in conference play) and making 66 saves. She was named 2019 Second Team All-Big Ten, joining junior Nneka Moneme, who is a forward, and Visco. Senior Taylor Aylmer was a 2019 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.
