In the past, traveling in no-frills vehicles to golf tournaments made it tough for Scarlet Knights student-athletes to fulfill their primary role—that of student. Thanks to a gift of about $50,000 from the Class of 1957, the golf teams now have a new ride equipped with the comfort, space, and technology to allow students to study on the road. The donation for the van “shows our student-athletes the importance of giving back—and of supporting those who follow them,” says Rob Shutte, head coach of the men’s team.
