According to the sports website FanSided, attending a game at High Point Solutions Stadium, in Piscataway, made its bucket list of the top 30 destinations for college football fans in paying homage to football traditions and history. Rutgers was, after all, the site of the first intercollegiate football game, which was played in 1869 when Rutgers beat Princeton, 6–4. The game took place on a field now occupied by the College Avenue Gymnasium at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. The list compiled by FanSided, which is part of Sports Illustrated, recommended attending a national championship game as the Holy Grail of college football.
