The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center has opened, and there is a special buzz surrounding the new fall season in the performing arts. Located downtown next to the State Theatre on Livingston Avenue, the facility is the new home for the George Street Playhouse, Crossroads Theatre Company, and American Repertory Ballet—as well as for the Mason Gross School of the Arts. The Rutgers arts conservatory now has a venue that will showcase the excellence of student performances. The arts center, the product of a public-private partnership, features two theatrical venues, rehearsal studios, academic and office space, more than 200 apartments, and public parking.
