Dimensionism: Modern Art in the Age of Einstein, an exhibition at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, investigates how modern art was influenced by scientific advances, from Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity to the advent of more powerful microscopic and telescopic lenses. Dimensionism, on view through January 5, 2020, features more than 70 artworks and was inspired by the 1936 “Dimensionist Manifesto,” which declared that artists should respond to developments in science taking place around them.
