The Nursing and Science Building, featuring this impressive atrium, is the newest research and teaching facility at Rutgers University–Camden. It’s home to undergraduate and graduate students and faculty working in the areas of biology, the health sciences, physics—and, yes, nursing, in all its emerging specializations. The building, located at Fifth and Federal streets, is the latest example of Rutgers–Camden’s deepening commitment to the health sciences, in this case preparing students to meet the demand for nursing and bioscience professionals in the region. The 100,000-square-foot facility connects Rutgers–Camden and the city’s university district with Cooper University Hospital, the Coriell Institute for Medical Research, and the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, creating an “eds and meds” corridor that burnishes the city’s growing reputation as a destination for science and health research and learning.
